FROM THE PUBLISHERS
The purpose of this Introductory Issue is to acquaint you with what you can expect in each weekly issue of the Womens Ministry Newsletter. With few exceptions, you can count on your Newsletter to arrive on Wednesday or Thursdays of each week. Each weekly issue will include some combination of a tip for the week, an excerpt from a book, a recommended resource, a feature story, or news and happenings from the field of women's ministry. The format and content will be brief and to the point. The bottom line: We'll try to keep you up-to-date on what's happening, and what works in women's ministry.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
WomensMinistry.Net was launched in June of 1998, in partnership with Jennifer Rothschild Ministries - http://www.womensministry.net/JR. Jennifer is a conference speaker and worship leader who has been used extensively across the United States. Her husband, Dr. Philip Rothschild, is a business professor at a Christian university, and co-founder of WomensMinistry.Net. The Womens Ministry Newsletter is a free service, with the goal of providing up-to-date news and information related to women's ministry. At WomensMinistry.Net you'll find a wm Event Calendar, a wm Directory of People, an IdeaBank, and much more. For the full story of How It All Began, go to: http://www.womensministry.net/History

WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN EACH ISSUE OF THE WM NEWSLETTER?

Each issue will be brief and to the point. Our goal is to provide you with information you can use immediately. The information will fall into three broad categories: What Works, What's Happening, and What's New. Under the What Works category we will provide "how to" TIPS you can use immediately. Like, How to Begin a Womens Ministry, How to Lead a Team, How to Enhance your Publicity, and other how to topics. Under the What's Happening category we will provide you with highlights about past, current, and future ministry events. We're assuming you want to know what other churches and ministries are doing to reach women for Christ. Under the What's New category we will provide you with information about new resources (books, bible studies, etc.), new additions to our website, and changes in ministry leadership positions.

WHERE DOES ALL OF THIS GREAT "STUFF" COME FROM?
Several sources. Contributing Writers. Contributing Scouts. Contributing P&Ms. And You! We have several writers that contribute material by writing their own columns, or by summarizing and excerpting from books and articles written by other authors. We have Scouts that are on the lookout for newsworthy events and information. These Scouts send us "news" by email, through our submission forms on our web site, and by fax. We have magazine and book Publishers, and Ministries (P&Ms) that have placed the Womens Ministry Network on their list of media contacts. Because WomensMinistry.Net is a publisher of news and information, publishers and ministries benefit from sending us press releases about new products and new events. We get press releases by fax and email. Finally, we have women like you who have volunteered to review books, share information, and add events to our event calendar. To contribute, go to http://www.womensministry.net/wm+You.htm

HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE?
If you have information that would be interesting and helpful to women involved in women's ministry, we'd love to hear from you. The best way to get information to us is by e-mail or by using our simple submission forms at our website. Our least preferred, but acceptable method is by fax. The obvious reason for our preference is because we would much rather edit material, than re-type the material we receive from a fax.
By email: ideas@womensministry.net
By web: http://www.womensministry.net/InputForms.htm
By fax: 417-888-2095

WILL THE INFORMATION I PROVIDE BE PUBLISHED?
You can increase your chances of getting news and material published by submitting it according to the preferences outlined above (email, web, fax). Second, it must be relevant to our audience - women's ministry leaders and volunteers. Third, it must be brief, to the point, and well written. Our goal is to have columns no longer than 500 words.

AND NOW...THE REST OF THE STORY

In addition to the useful tips found in our e-mail newsletter, our e-mail newsletter will also include a brief summary of a story or column, followed by a link (url address) to our web site. This means the story was too long for e-mail, there are photos to be seen, or there is a new interactive tool added to our web site. To access these links, simply click on the web address provided, or copy and paste the address into your browsers address window, and press enter. If you can click on this address - http://www.womensministry.net  - your e-mail program is HTML compatible. If the address above is not highlighted, you will probably need to cut and paste the address in your browser address box. There you'll get...the rest of the story. Good Day.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE WEB ACCESS?
Some of you may only have e-mail access. This means you may not be able to access the link to the complete story or column. If we find a large number of you have only email access, we will consider providing a full text email version of our newsletter. Let us know by sending an email to comments
@womensministry.net.

DO YOU HAVE A FORUM FOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS?
Many of you will have questions you'd like to have answered through WomensMinistry.Net. While our e-mail newsletter is currently not set up to be a discussion-based newsletter, please DO send your questions and comments to us. If the question is of interest, we'll pose the question in an upcoming issue, and ask women to respond. Send your questions to comments
@womensministry.net.

YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS IS SAFE
It's very important for you to know that your e-mail address, and our mailing list will NOT be sold, or provided to anyone without your consent. However, if you send us a news or information with your e-mail address in the signature line, we'll assume you want other subscribers to know about it.

ENGLISH 101
Did you notice we don't place an apostrophe in the couplet "Womens Ministry"? That's because we don't want you to forget our web address is www.womensministry.net (with no apostrophe). According to the Plain English Handbook, both women's ministry (possessive form) or Womens Ministry (when used as proper name) are appropriate. Bet you didn't know you'd get a grammar lesson. You'll also notice we often use "wm" to abbreviate "women's ministry."
