1. FROM THE PUBLISHER
As I write this column, Philip, Clayton, Connor and I
are sitting on an airplane, stalled on the tarmac at San Antonio
Airport. Due to severe weather in Dallas, our flight has been
diverted and we were just informed that we will have to
WAIT two hours before our flight can continue to Dallas - and
of course, we'll miss our connection. My immediate thought was,
"we're going to be exhausted, and we have so much that needs
to be done in the days ahead". I then began to think about the
virtue of waiting.

On our life journey, waiting seems to be a necessary part of the
process. Scripture tells us those who wait upon the Lord will
renew their strength. It seems to me when we wait with a proper
perspective, we recognize that God is the divine "Daytimer", the
supernatural schedulemaker, the ultimate "Calendar Creator".
With this perspective delays do not have to result in fatigue or
weariness, instead, our strength can be renewed. Waiting can
be a place of revitalization so that you will be able to run and
not grow weary. No doubt, your ministry will be wrought with delays,
detours, and disappointments.

In your life and ministry, measure how you are handling the delays.
Are you taking advantage of divine delays in your life and ministry
as an opportunity to renew your strength and improve your serve.

2.wmIceBreaker:
Pat on the Back
Objectives:
To recognize and congratulate your audience
or women's ministry team for a job well done.
Procedure:
Break up your next meeting with this re-vitalizing
activity. Tell your audience or team to stand.
Have everyone put their left or right arm straight
out to the side of them palm up. (Demonstrate
while giving the instructions) Then, instruct them
to bend at the wrist, bend at the elbow and give
themselves a pat on the back for all sitting through
a seminar, or as the case may be, for sitting through
a long planning meeting.

3. SPEAKER ILLUSTRATION:
Worry: It's All In Your Head
There was a young medical student who was asked
by a nurse in the maternity ward why he was so
enthusiastic about being in obstetrics. He said timidly,
"When I was on medical rotation, I suffered from heart
attacks, and asthma. In surgery, I was sure I had ulcers.
In the psychiatric wards, I thought I was crazy. But now,
in obstetrics, I can finally relax."

4. wmUpdate: Search for Speakers by State
It's easy to find a speaker from your area for your next
women's ministry event. At our wmPeopleDirectory website,
http://www.womensministry.net/directory, select the VIEW link.
When you are given a dialog box - that's what they call those window
forms you fill out - select STATE from the SEARCH ON box, then type in
the two letter abbreviation for the state of interest - be sure to capitalize
the abbreviations. Press the SEARCH button. It will automatically
search all categories (speakers-authors, musicians, drama) in the
STATE of your choice. If no speaker is found, search on other STATES
within your region.

5. wmINSPIRATION: CREATIVE, IN HIS IMAGE
Here's a inspirational challenge from one of our subscribers:
In the first words of the Bible, we are introduced to God as the
Creator. He created the earth, the seas, the skies, the stars, and then,
He created man in His image. By doing so, He bestowed creativity on
each of us. So many times, I have heard women say, "I am not
creative." The words give me a shutter. For we have been created in
the image of The Most Creative One. We are each one creative,
sometimes, it may just take a little digging to find an outlet for the
creativity that lies within us. Dig deep, burst out of "the box" with your
thinking, search out new ways to minister in the creative image of
God! Show the world The Creator by using the creativeness that He has
weaved into the very soul of each of us!

7. wmParent Tip: by Cheri Fuller
Do It Now!
As moms we can get so busy, have so much on our
minds and so many responsibilities! Life is going in
fast forward in our society and often in our homes.
God's word tells us life is like a vapor. It seems our
kids grow up so fast. One minute they are little and
in the twinkling of an eye, they are walking across the
stage graduating from high school and leaving for college.
We can't make the progression of time stop, but we
can rethink our priorities, slow our hectic pace down a
bit, and make time for what's most important.

Consider what one mother said in little piece I love called "Do It Now":
One day you will turn around to hug them and they will be gone.
DO IT NOW.
One day you will turn around to show them some treasure of
your heart and they will be gone.
DO IT NOW.
One day you will turn to teach them some promise of God and
they will be gone.
DO IT NOW!
One day you will turn around to apologize for some selfish
mistake you made and they will be gone.
DO IT NOW.
One day you will turn around to enjoy them and they will be gone.
DO IT NOW.
One day you will turn around to love them and they will be gone.
PLEASE DO IT NOW.
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people,
especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
Galatians 6:10 "So teach us to number our days that we might
present to Thee a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12

8. What Works for Us
Recently, the Ladies Ministry at
College Acres Baptist Church had a wonderful dinner.
Each lady decorated a table with their own china,
crystal, and silver and center piece. We started out
by having fun by giving out door prizes, and then
having a hat contest which the ladies had made and
brought with them. We had categories for the prettiest,
ugliest, craziest, tackiest, biggest, smallest, most
original, etc.. Small prizes were awarded for the winners.
We then had an inspirational speaker. Over 100 ladies
attended - some of whom had not been to any ladies
events. The night was a great success.
