This week I had the opportunity to contribute to a book by
Debi Stack to be released from Moody Press in August of
this year. The book will take a humorous look at busy
Christian women who are maxed out; thus, the appropriate
title MARTHA TO THE MAX!

One of the questions she asked was "What advice would
you give to a woman who struggles with being a Martha to
the Max?" The answer I gave was a good reminder for me
and I thought perhaps a good reminder for the more than
3000 busy Christian women involved in ministry that read this
newsletter. Measure whatever seems urgent at the time in
light of eternity. Circumstances become clearer when
eternity is our standard. The "here and now" deceives us
into thinking that everything is urgent, but an eternal
perspective allows us to see that not all things that seem
urgent are really important. We are never fully maxed
out when we give ourselves to the important; it is only
the "self-perceived" urgent that drains us. It seems urgent
that the house is in perfect order because company is
coming at 5, but what is really important is company is
coming.

Ask God to give you discernment as to what
is truly important in your life and ministry and enjoy
the journey!

"Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move
you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord,
because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
(I Corinthians 15:58)

2. TRAVEL TIP: SAVE DOLLARS WHEN BOOKING TRAVEL

Whether you travel a lot yourself, or you are responsible for
coordinating travel for your women's event speaker, you'll
want to take advantage of this nifty dollar saving tool.

True Story: I just booked a flight for Jennifer to fly to Jacksonville FL,
and saved the hosting church about $150 in air fare. If you go to
www.travelocity.com and register for a FREE service they
call FARE WATCHER EMAIL, you will be notified by email anytime
an airline drops or raises its prices by $25 or more. You be alerted
for up to five different destinations. It's a great little tool for keeping
abreast of air fares. You can purchase your ticket through Travelocity,
or you can call your local travel agent. I recommend it.

3.DEADLINE EXTENDED: FREE PRINTED POST CARDS

Last week we mentioned a Free offer to have 500 postcards
of your website printed. It's a great way to let others know about
your ministry, event, or website. The folks at digitalworks.com assured

4. 2000 DIRECTORY UPDATED, AND WHAT WORKS?

Our 2000 Directory of Speakers, Authors and other gifted
communicators has been updated. If you're search for a speaker
or musician, find them at www.womensministry.net/directory
If you want a to have your name included in our Directory simply
follow the directions. We now have about 300 women listed in our
Directory.

Please take a moment and send us a short tip of What Works
for you and your women's ministry. Do you have a tip for how
to promote a women's ministry event, or how to organize prayer
warriors for your ministry. Let us share it with other women's
ministry leaders, speakers, and workers. Send your email to

5. CHERI FULLER'S PARENT TIP: BLESS A TEACHER!
Do an act of kindness this week for your child's
school teacher or Sunday School or Awana teacher.
Little thoughtful deeds like those below can
communicate a lot of appreciation, build rapport,
and develop a groundwork for working together.

Here are some ideas that don't take a lot of time:
* Next time you bake a batch of cookies or muffins,
wrap a few in plastic wrap, put a bright ribbon around
it and attach a note: "Have a good day! From the
Johnson's" Send it with your child to school.

* Write a thank-you note for some way the teacher
has helped your child, sparked some motivation, or
planned a special project or field trip. Besides the
benefit of blessing the teacher, you'll be a good role
model to your child of gratitude.

* Look for a need in the classroom that you can fill,
like a box of tissues or some special stickers.
