I (Robyne) almost forgot to change the issue number this week! Then when I was erasing the 299 and replacing it with 300, I was struck by the number. If we have sent out over three hundred issues and there are approximately three tips and ideas in each one... well you do the math! We are looking at over 900 original tips and ideas specifically related to women's ministry. Pretty impressive.

    Names and Mission/Purpose Statements for women's ministries

    Here are some of great names and mission statements being used by women's ministries.

    WM Name: Graceful Touch

    Purpose: That every woman of Graceview would be encouraged to seek the heart and mind of Jesus Christ, freely living to please Him and committed to serve His Church in love; that she would excel in her walk of faith, engaging in the power of prayer and the Word, living joyfully in the Spirit, growing the kingdom by discipling others, and expressing encouragement while affirming the beauty and worth of her family and friends.

    Based On: Each one should use whatever gift she has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

    Church Size: between 500-1000

    WM Name: Women for Christ Ministry

    Purpose: Our women’s mission exists to EXALT Jesus above all and to LOVE and DISCIPLE those He leads to our fellowship.

    Church Size: under 250

    WM Name: Princess with Purpose

    Purpose: To learn and know that we are God's princess. To equip ladies to minister to others and work in the community.

    Church Size: between 500-1000

     


     

    Group Activity
    Love One Another

    Based on: Any scripture on love

    Purpose: to encourage and uplift women

    Description: Have the women sit in a group with one chair placed in the middle. Each woman is given a post-it note pad with a pen. One by one the women take turns (going around the circle) and sitting in the "Love Chair" that is in the middle.

    As each one sits down, the ladies in the group write something positive about that person on the post-it. Then each one takes a turn, reads out loud what they wrote and shares why they wrote that particular thing. Then they place the post-it on the woman in the middle of the circle covering her with positive messages.

    This is a powerful way to make each woman feel loved and appreciated and shows her the effect she has on another woman.

    At the end - when all women have had a turn sitting in the middle Love Chair - they take the post-its off of them and place them in a small blank note book. This is something tangible they can look back at when they need encouragement.

    WM.NET Note: You can make simple books for each woman out of card stock that is punched on the side with two holes and tied together with ribbon. If you want to make something more permanent, purchase small photo albums.

    Another one of our favorite ideas from past issues

    Ministry Program Idea: Intensive Intentions
    from Issue # 105 Thursday, February 7, 2002

    Purpose:To share the gospel through grief counseling and prayer.

    Description: An Intensive Intentions group is formed by first designating a leader and then workers. Next contact locals hospitals to see if they would be willing to call the leader of your group whenever there is a family waiting in the intensive care unit. You can then visit the family and offer prayer, counseling, or support. You can also simply deliver baskets of fruit, snacks, or reading material just to let them know that someone cares.

    This same idea can be used with any type of medical situation, such as single mothers who just gave birth.

    Keys to success:
    -Appoint a leader who has the vision
    -Pray for your leader(s) and the ministry
    -Help your leader recruit workers, and try to recruit people who are available at different times of the day
