Greetings!

Have you ever had a women's event that was just about a close to perfect as perfect gets this side of heaven? You know, one of those times where it is so obvious that this is all about God and what He wants to do in the lives of women.

Well, I (Robyne) recently attended a Ladies Night Out that fit this description. Halfway through the evening I just sat and watched women in their twenties to eighties sitting together laughing, talking and hugging. It reminded me of how special Women's Ministries are, and what amazing women are out there leading these groups. Thanks ladies! Keep up the great kingdom work!

    Pink Piggie Party

    Based On: We modified an idea from " More Hours In My Day" by Emilie Barnes
     

    Description: All women in our community ages 18-118 were invited to a night of fun, food and fellowship... pink piggie style.

    The invitations asked the ladies to wear something pink (from P.J.'s to a Prom Dress); bring finger foods and a friend. Childcare was provided for nursery aged children.

    As the women arrived they were given a card and asked to write down three things about themselves. Two of them were to be true and one a lie. After we got over the general joking about lying in church, we collected all the cards in a basket and went around the room having each person draw a card, introduce themselves and read the card they had drawn. We then had fun trying to guess who it was. If we could not figure it out, the author owned up. They then told which was the lie. It was noisy and full of laughter.

    We had refreshments and then played another game. It was a dice/drawing game where specific numbers have to be rolled to draw parts of a pig. The object was to be the first to complete the pig. (This is from the book mentioned above.) There were ten rounds and prizes for the winner of each round, as well as the ladies who totaled the highest and lowest number of points.

    We wrapped up the evening with a reading of "The Three Theological Pigs" from a book called Spiritually Correct Bedtime Stories:Parables of Faith for the Modern Reader by Chris Fabry. We were encouraged to stay downwind of the sty and stay busy where God is at work.

    This was announced as a quarterly event, but we had such a great time and many requests to do them more often, so we are planning a Mystery Dinner for June.
