My new book was written for Christian women to give non-christian friends. It's a humorous book of essays about everyday life, BUT each essay also has a scriptural lesson. It's been well received everywhere -- even Phyllis Diller liked this book (www.hugsandhope.org/pb.htm )

I've given away about 100 of these books and I have received only one comment from a gal who asked if I was trying to convert her to Christianity. All others found it uplifting and it has encouraged them to study the Bible more!

Ladies who visit your site might wish to learn more about purchasing this book to give friends. It has chapters about repentance, faith, God's great love, salvation, living the Christian life, why bad things happen to good people, how to battle depression, why God seems to ignore our prayers, and more.

New Book Release! "10-Minute Time Outs for Busy Women" by Grace Fox will be released by Harvest House Publishers on March 1, 2005. Here's what endorsers are saying:

Marlene Chase, Salvation Army’s National Literary Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of the U.S.A. War Cry magazine says, “10-Minute Time Outs for Busy Women addresses with extraordinary insight the ordinary pursuits and passions of today’s busy women. From hamsters to heavenly hugs, from bathing suits to bothersome bugs, Grace shines God’s penetrating flashlight along the path that turns up diamonds to enrich the heart.”

Ginger Kolbaba, editor of Marriage Partnership magazine, says, “If you're anything like me, you’re busy, busy, BUSY. I feel as though most of life involves just trying to catch my breath before moving on to the next item on my to-do list! That’s why I like 10-Minute Time Outs for Busy Women. Grace Fox understands what busy women deal with every day, and she helps us stay on track in our spiritual lives. Often I can feel as though my faith becomes just another item on that to-do list. But Grace reminds us profoundly in tiny bite-sized morsels that God’s plan for us isn’t about “just another thing to do” but about an awesomely rich and fulfilling relationship with him. Her words will help you remember and practice your faith all day long—no matter how full your schedule gets!"

Written to remind women to make time for what matters most, this book makes a great resource for personal devotions or small group discussion. Available online or in bookstores nationwide.

New Conference and Event Planning Resource for Churches Saves Time and Effort For Women’s Ministry Leaders

Includes CD-ROM of Nearly 200 Templates and Documents

Women’s ministry leaders who want to encourage women in deepening their spiritual growth now have a new resource to help them plan an effective and successful retreat or training event. The Christian Conference Planner Toolkit is book with CD-ROM that includes templates and documents for organizing Christian events in a timely manner. Actual examples of forms used by conferences planners serve as references and springboards for ideas. Author Angela Yee originally wrote The Christian Conference Planner after she discovered a lack of practical nuts-and-bolts resources to help churches plan conferences. This first book addressed the unique challenges that non-profits faced in planning conferences, giving step-by-step instructions in each area of organizing. Now, the companion resource, The Christian Conference Planner Toolkit, includes additional information and tools not covered in the first book. Angela Yee helped start and direct conferences that drew over 900 people and has had years of experience coordinating retreats, events, and productions. She has combined her love of writing and passion for organizing into a resource that is easy-to-use and applicable to many areas of ministry. The Christian Conference Planner Toolkit includes forms, checklists, schedules, diagrams and more. Detailed job descriptions identify the tasks of each planning team member. A master timetable outlines the tasks of each area and deadline dates may even be automatically calculated. The Christian Conference Planner Toolkit can be ordered from SummitStar Press, www.summitstarpress.com, 510-487-8511.

My book, “In The Light Of The Dark, A Battle Manual For Christians” has been released by Creation House Press. It has been written to strengthen and deepen the faith of believers who are battle worn and weary from what seems to be a ceaseless barrage of warfare.

This ‘manual’ equips Christians with practical down-to-earth-where-we-live ways in which to engage in spiritual warfare and to come out the winner. There are no ‘pat answers’ inside these pages but guidelines to fight the fight of faith even when we feel we are our weakest. Ultimately, glory and honor goes to our most deserving Lord. We find our roots in Him have grown deeper, and we have become a stronger and greater skilled warrior for it. This takes us on a journey, not to a place, but to a position in Him where we have never before been.

It is a privilege to be able to teach these life changing truths that offer strength and victory on the battlefield of life.

In His Eternal Grip,

Tina Miller

Alamo City Christian Fellowship of San Antonio, Texas, is led by Dr. David Walker. His wife Shirley has written a book giving readers an inside glimpse of their family’s life. This transparent, true story leaves few secrets. A Window in a Glass House addresses questions such as: “Will my home in heaven look like a parsonage?” “If my husband works for God, does he always win the arguments?” “If I were to die tonight would I go directly to heaven, or would I have to wait for the personnel committee to approve it?” Mrs. Walker chronicles the hazards and joys surrounding a family serving the Lord. This book is a must-read for pastor’s wives, yet gives church members a picture of everyday life allowing them to reevaluate their thoughts on ministry. It is available on Amazon.

A Meeting in the Ladies Room is a short, easy to read compilation of eight life lessons that readers can easily relate to, with such catchy titles as: Good Blocks Best, The Grass Isn’t Greener on the Other Side, It’s Just Cut Differently, Keep Your Lovin’ On Layaway ‘Til You Can Afford It, and If the Wedding Ring Doesn’t Fit, You Must Not Submit.

Smith, a long time abstinence advocate and an abstinence educator with a Metro Atlanta faith-based organization, was inspired to write this timely devotional after conducting an abstinence program for some amazing young women at a group home in Decatur, GA. Filled with a sincere desire to go beyond her job responsibilities with its federal grant program restraints, to minister to the spiritual and emotional needs of these young women as well as other urban teen girls, Smith set out to relate biblical principles to real-life situations teen girls face in this fast paced, media-driven society.

“The Bible admonishes older women to teach the younger women to be ‘discreet, chaste...good’, but unfortunately we have missed the mark. Urban young women in particular, are faced with increasing rates of sexually transmitted diseases, low self-esteem, and a sexual identity that’s distorted through the negative images and lyrics of today’s pop culture,” says Smith. “Through our own unwillingness to expose the bad choices we’ve made along the way, to take the time to mentor a young woman or just to speak out with love and compassion when we see a girl heading down the wrong path; those of us who are older and wiser have inadvertently become part of the problem,” she continues. “Now’s the time to gather our little sisters together and call ‘A Meeting in the Ladies Room,’” suggests Smith.

A Meeting in the Ladies Room can be utilized by church youth groups; Sunday school classes, private Christian schools, youth development organizations and ministries as an educational tool, and also makes a great gift for that special young lady in honor of her baptism, birthday, debutante cotillion, graduation, for Christmas or “just because.” The books will be sold locally in the Metro Atlanta area at Proverbs Hair Salon located at 2984 Panola Road, Suite 800 in Lithonia, GA, directly through the author and soon online at www.nu-nature.com.

For more information about A Meeting in the Ladies Room: Life Lessons for My Little Sisters in Christ (ISBN 0-9759008-0-3), please contact La Monica R. Smith at 404-376-8917 or nunatureinfo@aol.com.

"Women of Destiny, FJC" The mission of the Women of Destiny Ministry is based on Ephesians 1:3-14 with emphasis on verses 4-5 “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will”.

How does this apply to you? It applies to you in the sense that we, as women, must come to the knowledge of and understand “who” we are in Christ Jesus. The Word of God tells us that we have been chosen in HIM before the foundation of the world and that our destiny has been predetermined by Jesus Christ! These verses of scripture do not specify female or male, but speaks to all who believe on Jesus and are sealed by the Holy Spirit of Promise. However, the Lord has dealt with my heart to know that there is a great need in the Body of Christ that the women, whether young, middle aged or older, have a special time/place to come together. Whether you are a mother, a wife, a daughter or a grandmother, you are called of God and there is work to be done for Him. It doesn’t mater what you’ve done or what walk of life you come from…..what matters is what Jesus says about who you are in HIM!

The purpose of the Women of Destiny Ministry is for healing, deliverance, nurturing, comforting, edification and strengthening our women through Personal Testimonies, Prayer, Praise and most of all the Word of God. The goal of this ministry is to encourage, motivate and assist each willing women into knowing, understanding, accepting and walking in the gifts and callings of God on our lives in order that we may become “Women of Destiny”.

We meet monthly in Capital Heights, Maryland. For additional Information, prayer or counseling, please feel free to contact me on (301)333-5817 or via email.

Through an afternoon/evening event, including a banquet, Nancy teaches women how to live like true Daughters of the King (aka Princesses), encouraging, equipping and empowering them to change their life and the world around them. There is a time of worship and an incredible time of personal prayer where every woman present is encouraged to step out in their giftings and pray for each other. Lives are being changed, women's marriages are improving, their self-esteem in Christ is shining through. This is an awesome event.

Sister Sister "Total Body Ministry" is a Christian Ministry comprised of Women in Ministry. A platform that God has given for His Daughters in Ministry for such a time as this. Across our nation we have witnessed a great move of God as Women are moving by the Spirit, to lead, and serve as "Live Expressions of the Kingdom here on Earth."

The vision makes way for Women Ministers of different denominations to exercise their gifts through conferences, revivals, retreats, praise and educational workshops for the "Total Body of Christ". We are "Keeping the Fire Burning", as our Ministry Motto alludes to as we are now entering into our sixth year.

We are Women of Influence for the cause of Christ and called to make a difference in our homes, churches, communities and prayerfully this world, as we partner with the Faith Based Community. Our week long Conference is held yearly and features Women Ministers of various denominations, from various areas of these United States. We thank God for the Local Pastors who have opened up their hearts and churches for these services, as this has allowed us to fellowship and to connect with the men and women of God. To God be the Glory for the wonderful thing that He has done!!!!!

Talitha Cumi Ministries is a non-for-profit Christian Outreach Ministry dedicated to meeting the needs of women and teenage girls. Assisting them to maturity and reaching there full potential in Christ, for the sake of the Gospel. Talitha Cumi Ministries offers freedom for women to develop a closer relationship with God. We are dedicated to empowering all women to be positive, prayerful and powerful women of God. We will reach out across denominational, cultural, socioeconomic and religious barriers. To be the forefront of ministries who embrace women of all ages, and reach out to women who face and find themselves in dark and difficult circumstances. To empower women to “Arise” to the challenge that God has for them. Bringing women out of a spiritual death, a sleep state that the adversary has place them in To mobilize women into ministry through development, nurturing, and use of their gifts. (Spiritual, Physical, Social, and Mental) To allow God to direct the path, endure the task at hand, stay prayerful and build bridges/relationships that cultivate the people of God. To help women be and do all God has called them too.

We will focus on women and the ministry rather than organizational structure. Each woman may choose to participate according to her needs, interests and gifts the Spirit of God has given her. This atmosphere will give everyone an opportunity to learn from each other, and to integrate life’s experiences of spirituality and compassion onto the world.

The programs, events, workshops, and yearly conferences will provide a wonderful time of laughter, tears, learning, and fellowship as we share from our hearts about the power of living a life overflowing with the love of God. We will offer monthly meetings varying in topic with a team of resourceful speakers and training. Our curriculum will be practical and purposeful for today's young women. Through biblical application we will offer applied truths to help with the situations and circumstances of life. The classes will cover such topics as money management; self-esteem issues, communication skills, health and nutrition, interview techniques, computer classes and much more.

Talitha Cumi Ministries will meet needs through:

- Prayer - Intercessory - Empowerment - Mentoring - Leadership Development - Seminars and Workshops - Bible Study - Life Line - Counseling Services - Single Women’s Ministry - Youth Activities - Computer Classes - A Resource Team of Speakers/Training

I am very excited about what God is going to do for his people. When the Lord gave me this mission, he also gave me the number 12. As he continues to speak to me He will continually bring it all together. This is what He has shared with me so far:

- The damsel He spoke of in Mark 5:39-42a was 12 years old.

- The ministry will focus on 12 years and up.

- He has also given me a core group of 12 to assist in building this ministry for his Kingdom.

United Sisters Christian Women's Ministries ("US"), ministry of reconciliation and deliverance to women and girls. Women in the Body of Christ are suffering just as much as women who are not. It is time for us to realize that even though we go to many conferences, fellowships and retreats, we still are in need of being ministered to by God and by each other continually. It is time to realize that we are set free to be whatever God has called us to be and that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. (Read Romans 8:1-2; 9and Philippians 4:13) I look forward to networking with my sisters in Christ to facilitate some spirit-led and spirit filled events for women (and teens) of all ages, backgrounds, denominations. We also need a special emphasis on women in leadership who very rarely get a chance to retreat and be ministered to. Please keep "US" _United Sisters in your prayers.

Titus 2 Teams is a mentoring program that clusters four to six younger women with an older woman of faith for challenge and encouragement. Groups meet once a month in the home of the mentor to share a meal, insights from a challenging study, and to pray for one another.

Women from churches around the country are enthusiastic about the life changes they are experiencing as a result of the dynamic studies and love and support from their mentors and group. Women are being deeply touched and healed through interaction with the Scriptures and honest sharing with their groups. They can't say enough about the wonderful relationships they share. And, too, the monthly meetings fit any schedule.

Women begin the first year with a study of John 15, then move on to Colossians, and finally Galatians in the third year. Each of these studies help women think deeply about their relationship with Abba and to realize that they are wonderfully loved and accepted by him.

Older women love Titus Teams, too, because they are able to contribute so much to younger ones. Training is thorough and everything they need is right in their notebooks.

The program is unique, and the studies help women really open up to one another.

The national ministry is coordinated by Susan O'Banion, former staff member of McLean Presbyterian Church in McLean, Virginia. Susan writes curriculum, speaks, and trains churches who want to begin their own Titus 2 Team programs.

"You are appreciated..." At the end of the year encourage your team by having each executive/team member fill out a questionnaire that has each team members name and enough space for comments. Say "Briefly write down 1 or 2 things that you really appreciate (be it a characteristic or giftedness) about each team member. Collect all the comments and make a poster on decorated paper (8 1/2" x 11")for each team member with a list of all the things that she is appreciated for. At your windup encourage each woman by reading out loud to her reasons why she is appreciated. Give each team member her poster to take home.

"Getting Comfortable With Prayer"

We had a "prayer walk" a few years ago and it was attended fairly well. But we wanted to see MORE women experience "prayer" together. So we tried again and instead of calling our evening event a "Prayer Walk" we called it "Getting Comfortable With Prayer". The evening consisted of the following... *An icebreaker/refreshments at the end of the evening/childcare *One of the women of our church who is a good communicator spoke 10 minutes on the subject of "Getting comfortable in prayer". We were encouraged that God hears our prayers no matter how they are spoken (verbally or not)...what matters is that we DO pray...and how exciting it is to watch God answer prayers. *Then 2 women from our church each shared an experience on the topic of "prayer" (they were asked to share for 2-3 minutes). *Then the speaker (same one who shared on Getting Comfortable With Prayer) announced that we were going to engage in a prayer walk and went on to explain how it would be done. *She explained that at each station (about 8 in total) throughout the church building, a basket of "helps" would be found. She also gave us the freedom not to pray out loud but her "helps" were so good that every single women there that evening prayed out loud, many for the first time. *We divided into groups and then proceeded to walk through each station (about 8 minutes at each station) with a few minutes in between to move on. Not all groups went through all the stations because of time but all stations WERE covered in prayer by at least one group. One station was at the front window of the church overlooking the main highway and so this was the "Outreach" station. Other possible ideas for stations were in front of pastors office where we prayed for all staff & their families. Other stations might be the youth ministries, children, missionaries, etc. Prepare prayer requests in advance by requesting staff members or volunteer leaders of their prayer needs. *There were enough helps in each basket for everyone in the group to use. Each group had a leader and she would read the "leader's notes" that explained the station. "Helps" included... a) several prayers written out for those wanting to read a prayer b) scripture verses to base a prayer on c) point form ideas on what to pray for *The speaker purposefully invited women to be station leaders who had never "led" anything before. The speaker met with all the station leaders prior to the event to share our goals for the evening and to pray for each other and the event. *One women is each group was asked to keep her eye on the time and to announce when it was time to move on.

It has been one of our favorite events. Many women were invited/challenged to try a "new thing". A special bonding occurred with God and with each other as we poured out of hearts in prayer together.

Secret Sisters For The Team

While President of our women's group, I wanted to encourage the (10) executive on the team. So I sent a letter to (10) women of our church requesting that they be a "secret sister" to one member of the executive for the next 10 months. I purposefully choose senior women and others who did not usually get involved in women's ministries. In a short letter I explained the purpose of being a "secret sister", the name of her "executive secret sister" along with her position on the executive/birthday and 3 criteria. If they were not interested or unable to meet the criteria...I gave them complete freedom to say "no". The 3 criteria... a) to pray once a week for her "sister" b) to send her "sister" an encouragement note once a month from Sept to June c) optional: maximum of 3 small gifts.

I did not tell the executive and it took about 2 months into the year before they realized they were all receiving "encouragement". I explained very little and enjoyed the curiosity it stirred up.

Obviously some received more encouragement than others but the executive did not know about the criteria and therefore had no expectations. I reminded the (10) "encouragers" midway to press on with their commitment. The "secret sisters" revealed their names in June through a signed card.

This activity of encouragement benefit 20 women. "She who refreshes others will herself be refreshed..."

I'm site editor of a new parenting site called "ParentQuest" at http://www.raiseteens.com. I'm looking for writers (can't pay at this time!) who would like to see their Christian article about raising teens in print. I'm especially interested in whether teens should work, what "Gothic" really is, how homeschooling or private school makes a difference, and how teens can cope when a parent is seriously ill. I'm not sure I'm putting this in an appropriate place, but here goes!

What's New: Golden Moments' Ministries was birthed following a three hour prayer vigil during the last months of writing my dissertation. The birthing of songs, poems, devotions, sermons, bible studies. This is a ministry which will touch the hearts of many women who struggle with low self esteem, complacency. What God has done in my life is evidence that He can work through anyone who is open to Him regardless of educational or economic background, denomination, etc.

Wellspring Girl Groups are new and they are beginning to form! What is a Wellspring Girl Group? They are a group of girlfriends (about 3-5) that meet on a regular basis and actually "learn to hear the heart." Listening is a lost art these days. Women "think" they are good listeners, but in actuality, they fix, interrupt, give advice or suggestion biblical answers without ever really hearing the heart of their friend (or husband or child for that matter). These Wellspring Girl Groups are great! If you want more info on how to start one, then check out the Women in Touch Ministries site (www.womenintouch.net) and go to the What's New page. If you live in the Phoenix Valley and are interested in having a training Wellspring Listening Workshop for your women then please feel free to contact Lylah Ledner at 480.860,.4744 (Desert Streams Chapel). There is no charge for a training team to come to your church and teach your leadership team or your bible study group -how to "really" hear the heart.
