Video Devotional: A Lifestyle of Gratitude
Jennifer Rothschild
The latter part of November causes me to wonder if Thanksgiving is a day or a way of life.
For the Pilgrims, it was a lifestyle. Their day of thanks grew out of a year's worth of appreciation for the barest of necessities, a bit of grain, just enough warmth and the reality of survival. H. U. Westermayer reminds us that, “The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.”
Thanksgiving is less about what we have and more about what we are. Jennifer's video this month turns our attention to a lifestyle of gratitude just as we are about turn our calendars to the day on which we celebrate God's goodness with a day of giving thanks. Listen in and consider just how you will live a lifestyle of gratitude this coming year.
