Leadership Tip: Walk and Talk

Printer-Friendly Format

Every leader faces things that are easier said than done. Finding ways to minister to each member of your leadership team might be one of those issues for you, so here's an idea to help.

It had been on my heart to have more personal time with the women who serve with me in leadership. Since we all have busy schedules, one more meeting did not sound appealing. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, I remembered one of the women had asked us to go walking.

We began walking for one hour one day each week. Now I walk with three different women three mornings a week.

Our relationship has grown into mentoring friendship. Of course, the physical benefits are an answer to prayer. The whole thing works out beautifully for all of us. It never feels like we just have one more thing to do because we enjoy and look forward to the time together. It is only one hour a week together! I also meet them at their homes and we walk in their neighborhood.
