Icebreaker: How Do You Praise?
Objectives: To have the women laughing, comfortable, humbled and prepared together for our Praise & Worship night.
Materials: Index cards with portions of a popular radio song written on them. Procedure: We randomly handed out index cards to each girl all over the room. Each index card had 3-4 lines of a verse from a popular radio song. When we said "go," the girls had to burst out singing whatever was on their card (whether they knew the song or not!) and they had to find the other girls in the room who were singing the same song. As soon as everyone found their partners they had to stop singing (no time to practice together!). We then had a singing competition with each group performing their songs for an entire minute (far exceeding the four lines given on the index cards) and then a "best performance" award was given. This icebreaker was absolutely wonderful! Each group consisted of girls who had never heard the song or had heard it but didn't know all the words, or who couldn't sing all that well! It was great. The ladies were laughing hysterically as they fumbled through their songs together! We saw everyone sing really loud, off-key, without words, and on occasion...beautifully. No one had trouble giving their all during worship time!
