Icebreaker: Thinking Inside the Box

Printer-Friendly Format

Objectives: To convey a sense of who you really are

Materials: a box, glue, ribbons, beads, pictures or trinkets, etc.

Procedure: Before a ladies' retreat or get together, have each lady create a box that shows her identity.  Any kind of box will do. Decorate the box--inside and out--in a way that conveys who you are.  You might include hobbies, pictures of family, even the box itself says a lot.  Then when you are together, have each person display her box and share what everything means.

You can either ask the ladies to provide their own boxes complete with decorations, ready to share.  Or ask them to bring their own pictures and some favorite trinkets to add to the basics and box that you will provide.
