Summer's sunshine brings together friends, smiles and, what else...flip flops! Combine these summertime favorites to create a fun event that brings women together for friendship and fun.

Description: This is especially fun as a pre-summer or summer get together. We asked everyone to wear their "fanciest" flip-flops to this event. That really takes the pressure off those who feel like they must get dressed up! Some came in the most adorable hand decorated flip-flops. Others wore their first flip-flops of the summer. We had a flip-flop beauty review in which any women who wished could "model" their flip-flops. We had some husbands who served as judges, but it would also be fun to invite some teenage fashion geniuses to serve as judges...and maybe even introduce each "model." The winner received a flip-flop wreath, which we made by attaching flip-flops and silk flowers together with hot glue to form a fun summer wreath. We had chocolate treats to eat and enjoyed a devotion on friendships. Our women said this was one of their favorite times we've had together!

WM Note: We also like Fondue, Faith and Flip-Flops! Rent or borrow a chocolate fountain (or two), set out the pineapple, strawberries and our personal favorite, potato chips, and have a ball with this great theme. Check local craft stores or dollar stores for inexpensive flip-flops and flip-flop themed items. Napkin rings could be made with charms, which could be then given as favors. Cut flip-flops out of cardstock or craft foam for some really fun placemats and table decorations. Why not make a centerpiece out of flip-flops while you're at it?! This could be really fun to host poolside if a pool is available (or for those who are geographically blessed, at a local beach).

Since we've added "faith" to the title of this theme, the devotion could focus on people who would have flopped if they had flipped in their faith...but didn't (e.g., Jacob, Daniel, Ruth, and maybe someone right in your own church).
