Icebreaker: Ready, Set, Draw

It's the season of pumpkins! We have a fun icebreaker for your women's ministry that pays homage to these gourds and tests your drawing skills! Grab some markers, poster board and a pair of dice, but remember what you get when you drop a pumpkin - squash!

The Objective: Be the first team to complete a drawing of a jack-o-lantern.

How To Play: Divide those in the room into two teams. Give each team captain a poster board, a marker and a die. Each team member should take turns rolling the die, then draw the following in order:

Roll 1 - draw the circle for the pumpkin face

Roll 2 - draw the stem

Roll 3 - draw one eye

Roll 4 - draw the other eye

Roll 5 - draw the nose

Roll 6 - draw the mouth

The faster the teams roll the die, the better their chances of getting done first. The winning team could receive small treat bags, and the losing team could be first in line for refreshments.

WM Note: For an extra fun challenge, try this icebreaker blindfolded, then at the end, remove the blindfolds to see what the pumpkins looks like!

And while we're on the subject of fall...here's a bonus icebreaker with an autumn theme:  Build a Scarecrow

How to Play: Divide women into groups of at least three people. Let them know they will have 15 minutes to create the scariest, funniest or silliest scarecrow and create his 2- to 3-minute story.

Try to have one set of items - same or different - for each group. You can ask women to donate or loan items, or you can purchase them at a thrift store. Try not to provide typical scarecrow items - that adds to the fun and creativity!

The Result: Once 15 minutes are up, each team should introduce their scarecrow and share his story. Other teams should vote on the best by applause. Finished scarecrows can be used as props.

And remember that the scarecrow who wins was probably out standing in his field!
