Sharing Hope in a Hopeless World

How are you reclaiming hope in your current crisis? Do you know someone feeling hopeless? There's nothing worse than feeling as if no matter what we do, we just couldn't possibly feel better, deal better, or act better because the life we're living is out of control. Hope is one of the single most precious gifts we can share with others and it can change their life. Here are three ways to reclaim hope when all hope feels lost.

  1. Prayer - Pray continuously throughout your day. Prayer life with God is absolutely vital. Lack of communication to the Savior can lead to lack of communication from the Savior. The most beautiful hope offered is at the feet of Jesus. He accepts us just as we are, bruised and worn out from the fight. He welcomes us in our most ragged state. Taking time to be alone with God in prayer and surrender is a priceless gift.
  2. Scripture - Spend time daily in His Word. God wrote us a love letter - the Bible! He provided answers to all of life's hardest questions, including hopelessness. We have to do our part and spend time studying His Word, planting it in our hearts. God can bring His Word back to your mind when life is overwhelming.
  3. Community - Join a community of believers. Having a community around you, praying for you, seeking God with you, and encouraging you are essential! There are occasions in which our hopelessness is so overwhelming that getting on our knees to pray seems out of the question. A trusted sister in Christ can pray with and for you. You will be able to return to the place where your fellowship with Christ and hope is restored.
There is hope in a seemingly hopeless world, His name is Jesus! Claim Psalm 71:14 to be your heart-cry and your badge of truth. "But as for me, I will always have hope." Certain hope comes from Christ alone. New mercies can be found in the morning. Victory can be claimed, not defeat. Hope can be restored from the wreckage. Living a life with Christ does not mean your days will be easy. However, when all seems lost, there is always hope. Commitment to these three simple steps will change your life: Prayer, Scripture & Community.
